BIO ~ SARA BRITT
The Associate Director of Corporate Responsibility for PETA
Sara Britt is associate director of Corporate Responsibility at People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).
In this role, she leads a team in pushing for the enaction of animal-friendly policies in national and multinational companies.
Her achievements include convincing hundreds of fashion brands to stop selling fur, cashmere, and other animal skins and wools, and persuading more than 100 airports, financial institutions, and self-storage companies to ban glue traps.
Did you know that animal agriculture, which includes the leather and wool industries—is responsible for nearly one-fifth of greenhouse-gas emissions?
That means that what we wear has as much, if not more, of an impact on the climate catastrophe (and natural disasters like the fires raging in California) than what we drive or what we eat.
Luckily, luxurious and durable vegan clothing and accessories abound—and they spare cows, sheep, and other animals from miserable lives and frightening deaths, too!
