BIO ~ MELANIE JOHNSON 

Senior Manager of PETA’s Animals in Entertainment division 

Melanie Johnson is the senior manager of PETA’s Animals in Entertainment division. In this role, she leads campaigns against animal-exploiting enterprises such as SeaWorld, the Iditarod dog-sled race, and circuses that use animals.  

Her victories include ending SeaWorld’s practice of allowing trainers to stand on dolphins’ backs in cruel circus-style shows, persuading ExxonMobil to drop its Iditarod sponsorship, and convincing Universal Circus to go animal-free.
