ABOUT – Amy Dowe
Senior Director of Wellness, Tucson JCC
With over 15 years of leadership experience in the Fitness + Wellness industry, Amy Dowe’s professional journey was forged during her early years at the Worcester JCC afterschool program, and later as the regional president of BBG, a youth group for Jewish teens. After earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth, Amy relocated to Tucson in 2000. In 2004, she welcomed her first child, Emma, followed by the birth of Kyle in 2006.
Amy’s dedication to her family coexisted with her career aspirations, and in 2009, she became a certified Indoor Cycling instructor, teaching at the Tucson J, and taking on a number of fitness-related volunteer roles at her children’s schools where she introduced programs like Girls on the Run, Milers Club, and coached track for elementary and middle school students. By 2014, Amy transitioned into her position as the J’s Health and Wellness Coordinator, an opportunity that allowed her skills in program design to flourish.
In 2015, she became the Fitness Director, and was promoted as the Director of Wellness in 2017 and again in 2023, as the Senior Director of Wellness. Amy’s career is defined by her exceptional achievements in community engagement, program innovation, and cross-functional leadership, all underpinned by her unwavering commitment to excellence and the well-being of her community.
Her dedication has earned her multiple awards from JCC Association for her pioneering work in creating innovative programs that benefit aging adults.

Todd Rockoff – President and CEO of Tucson JCC
Todd Rockoff, President and CEO of Tucson JCC, has had a 36-year career in the Jewish Community Center (JCC) field. He has been a frequent trainer and guest speaker at JCC Association Professional Conference and Biennial. Todd co-led the development and implementation of many national pilot programs for JCCs, such as: Discover @ the J, Discover CATCH, Talent Management, JCC Maccabi Access, JCulture, and Women inPower. Most recently, Todd has focused on advocating for inclusion programs, practice.
Overall, Todd Rockoff has had a 36-year career in the Jewish Community Center (JCC) field. Todd became the President and CEO for the Tucson JCC in July 2013. After achieving his bachelor’s degree in recreation, leisure studies, and education from the State University of New York at Cortland, he began his career at Scranton JCC in Pennsylvania, in 1985.
From 1995 – 2001, Todd was the Assistant Executive Director and then Executive Director for Calgary JCC in Canada. After that, Todd became the Executive Director for the Shaw JCC of Akron in 2002 – 2013.
I grew up at the JCC in Rochester, NY, went to day and overnight camp and then began working at the JCC. Once I started working at the J and saw the impact you could make on the lives of others I was hooked. I graduated from college and immediately began working as a professional at the JCC in Scranton.
I am blessed to have loved doing what I do every day and inspired to keep learning and growing every day. The Tucson JCC sees itself as the town square of the community.
