BIO ~ Alex Wilson

Attainable Housing Advocates & HOPER

I hail from sunny St. George, Utah. I was born here and moved to the east coast very young and spent four years in Connecticut, then eight in Georgia before moving back to St. George at 12. My favorite movie is The Princess Bride and I do all I can to hang out with my wife and kids and play as much golf as possible.

I went on a two-year service mission after high school to Argentina where I learned Spanish and to do my own laundry. I married my wife, Malia who is also from STG, in July of 2015 and we have 2 daughters, 5 and 2. I attended UVU and BYU in Utah and graduated in Speech Communications.

I’ve dabbled in multiple realms across my career. I found myself working at In-N-Out Burger for my formative years, 16-19. I honestly loved it, and the fast pace helped hold onto my relatively short attention span. I took a short break to go on a two-year service mission down to Argentina. Upon return, I landed in different realms of the sales world to support life through college. I have an extensive background in Door-To-Door. If you include 2 years knocking doors in Argentina, I knocked professionally from 2013-2024. That is too many years for anyone to exist as a walking pop-up ad getting yelled at by strangers, but alas, I was blessed and cursed to have my only marketable skillset be my ability to get most people to not hate me in about ten seconds.

This happens to be the most valuable skill you can have if you want to survive in direct sales. I’ve always loved communicating and storytelling. Training and coaching are things that come easily and bring me a lot of satisfaction.

Direct sales and dealing with clients face to face/one on one is where I find the most enjoyment in my work and just in life. I can handle a big group if I have to, but I’d always choose a smaller setting to do my best work.

I’m currently working with my favorite company I’ve been a part of. I work with Attainable Housing Advocates as they administer the Hope for Homeownership program funded by the HOPER Organization. We help homebuyers take advantage of a research study that pays them up to $13,000 to participate which helps so much with the costs associated with closing on a home. We also help them navigate and leverage residential solar to get additional benefits including an amazing tax credit valued between $10-12K on average.

I get to work with a long list of amazing Loan Officers and Real Estate professionals and help them hit their goals as well, creating a really supportive and symbiotic network of partners.

About the Host ~ Ian Brannon

Senior Vice President / Loan Officer

After graduation from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with a degree in Systems Management and a minor in Wine and Viticulture in 2002, I started as an Operations Manager for Cotton Canyon Winery.

In the fall of 2003, I switched gears and started as a Loan Officer Assistant at Wells Fargo Home Mortgage. In 2004 I was quickly promoted to Loan Officer upon which I continued my career with Wells Fargo until February 2009 when I joined the Volpe Team at Nova Home Loans as a Loan Officer Assistant.

Upon completion of my 5-year commitment to the team, I quickly grew my own team, The Brannon Group, where I soon opened up a Nova Branch in the Catalina Foothills district. In 2021 I was asked by the Executive Team to join them as Regional Manager of Southern Arizona, Southern California and Colorado.

In 2023 I stepped down from my position to continue my passion of serving clients and Realtors as a Senior Vice President and Loan Officer of Nova Home Loans.
