BIO ~ DR. LINDSEY GEORGE

Dr. George is a world leader in gene therapy and a physician-scientist specializing in bleeding and clotting disorders, including hemophilia.

She is Director of Clinical In Vivo Gene Therapy at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia where she leads clinical trials and research advancing gene-based treatments for genetic diseases.

She also serves on the Board of Directors of the American Society of Gene and Cell Therapy. Gene therapy and gene editing are rapidly advancing fields that are changing how we understand and treat disease—moving from managing symptoms to addressing root causes at the genetic level.

Today, more than a dozen FDA-approved cell and gene therapies are available for pediatric patients in the U.S., with many more in development. Gene therapy has the potential to treat a wide range of conditions, particularly those caused by a single genetic mutation, as well as more complex diseases.
