BIO ~ SAMANTHA CROWE

Samantha Crowe is the associate director of science education for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).

She works directly with educators to replace animal dissection with interactive software and leads efforts to advance animal-free science education. Through PETA’s Teach Kind program—which provides teachers with humane education materials—she has helped schools around the world implement dissection-choice policies and adopt innovative alternatives to animal use in the classroom, including the Kind Frog™, a silicone-based dissection model that gives students a hands-on learning experience without harming frogs.

She’s also a former college biology instructor who used her position to practice what she preaches by teaching without using animal specimens and now conducts teacher workshops, contributes to scientific research, and advocates for state-of-the-art, humane education.
