BIO ~ Theresa Levy
Owner Tucson Italian
Theresa is originally from Los Angeles and has been based in Tucson since age twelve. She has a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies (psychology, math, drama/dance), a MA in Latin American Studies, and a Ph.D. in Language, Reading, and Culture and Cultural Anthropology.
She has also spent time studying in Firenze, Italy. Theresa is fluent in English, Portuguese, Italian, Spanish, and French.
Theresa has been teaching and performing her whole life. She spent nine years teaching Italian at UofA. She started her own business, Tucson Italian, in 2012. Has been in partner in the internationally successful musical act, Nossa Bossa Nova.
Tucson Italian started in 2012 as an idea to bring together people’s love of community, food, and Italy with their desire to learn to speak Italian. Since the beginning, the classes have taken place at Ristorante Tavolino. There are four classes offered each week, depending on people’s schedules and Italian language experience.
The Classes are offered for beginners and well as those with experience. The two hour classes are held over a gourmet lunch from the restaurant.
